As a person who has traveled internationally for over 55 years, I can say that Rory is hands down the best local guide - have ever used. Not only did he show us the tourist spots and know how to take the fastracks, but he also knew where the hidden gems were located that aren't on the tourist maps. The wineries in Stellenbosch became learning experiences as Mark was taught sword and champagne techniques and nailed it on the first try. Rory helped Mark plan a surprise helicopter ride that meant more to me than he can ever imagine. He was much more than a guide, he was a personal photographer- taking unexpected and beautiful photos of us without the standard point and shoot. His knowledge about the area was par to none. From the welcoming smiles as we arrived to calling ahead to future camps to see if we could get additional reserve Cabernet Sauvignons. Their genuine interest in understanding our needs and being action driven for solutions made our journey experience not just pleasant, but amazing.

My husband and I were in South Africa on our honeymoon for just about two weeks. We purposely chose to book a driver for a multitude of reasons and could not have been more satisfied with the result. Our driver, Rory, was an outstanding addition to our trip. He was so invested in getting to know us as a couple in order to personalize our trip towards our goals and likes. With every excursion he took us on, he was so knowledgeable and excited. You could tell very clearly how passionate he was about his country and making our trip the best it could be. As a person, Rory was so personable. His laugh was contagious and his devotion to living life was unmatched. He did everything with us, from climbing up the side of a mountain, to taking a cold plunge into the ocean. My husband and I truly believe he made our experience in South Africa THAT much better, and without him, our memories wouldn’t be the same. His company is phenomenal, and we would highly recommend Rory and them to anyone we know traveling to SA. Thanks a million and have an awesome festive season.

We loved seeing how he captured our best moments kayaking with the penguins, exploring Table Mountain and the wine lands, and taking in the beautiful botanical gardens. Rory was punctual, organized and professional. He is also extremely knowledgeable about the history of Cape Town. I highly recommend him!

My wife and I recently honeymooned in South Africa. Rory was our tour guide in Cape Town, although tour guide is the wrong term. Rory was our guide, our teacher, our companion, our private photographer and friend over the few days we were there.

We learned a huge amount from Rory about the history of the region, the sights we were seeing and the nuances of Africa that other tour guides would likely shy away from. Rory is a fantastic storyteller, highly entertaining to spend time with and extremely kind and generous. He took us to wineries that he felt would suit our tastes (and he got it spot on) and went above and beyond what we ever anticipated.

When we left he had also bought us a bottle of wine as well as a book that we had discussed during our time together that teaches lessons on life, relationships and animals (our next stop was safari). We couldn't recommend Rory more highly to anyone visiting Cape Town.

Rory, Owner/Operator of Taylor Made Adventures created THE BEST experience ffor our travel group! All of us travel international; this was our first visit to Cape Town and Rory put on a show for our group. Table Mountain, Camps Bay, driving the coast for hours full of fun stories and belly laughs, lunch at an Ostrich Farm, traveling to the southern most tip of the continent, taking pics across from Antartica! He understood his clients, read us well, gave us the experience of a lifetime. He stayed with us the entire time,, experienced every execursion with us as if it was his first time.

He is a proud South African and you can tell he really enjoyed showing us his country. When we arrived back to USA, he delivered our team a photo of album of 305 candid shots he had taken during our four days together. The pictures ar his photography. I am definitely calling Rory next time I'm in town AND recommending him to all my friends. I am a little bit South African now, "I'm a Bokke Bokke!". Go Springboks!
